Spiritual Gifts – Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts

Rev. Dave Middlebrook

Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 12:1,4-11,27; Romans 12:1-8; Ephesians 4:7,11-13 |

As we've said over the last few weeks church is not something we 'go to', for all of us "I am church". Scripture is quite clear, especially in this most famous passages on spiritual gifts, that 'each of us has been apportioned gifts ... to prepare us for works of service', 'there are numerous 'different kinds of gifts, but one spirit', and we 'therefore offer our bodies as living sacrifices'. Spiritual gifts are given for the common good and glorifying God, and are not simply about being on a church rota. Gifts are to be used every day and in every context God places us, not just in church. We discover our gifts through prayer, scripture reading, conversation with trusted and Christian friends, and a questionnaire is offered as part of that discernment and prayerful process.
