SHAPED: The Purpose of Your Personality

22nd November, 2015 ()

Bible Text: Galatians 5:16-26 |

We are all unique, and God has made each one of us for a purpose. God loves variety and we see that in the different personalities in each person. Outgoing and shy, task orientated and people orientated, those who like variety and those who like routine, and more. No personality type is right or wrong, God uses all. We see that in scripture with Paul, Peter, Mary, Martha, Timothy, and we know it in church. There are positive aspects to all our personalities and negative aspects. God wants to enhance the positive and help us deal with the negative. Our Galatians reading speaks of that conflict within us, between 'living by the spirit' and letting the negative take over. We're asked to allow the spirit to enhance those positive aspects and enable us to show the fruit of the spirit. How do we do that? By offering our whole-selves to God; heart, soul, mind, and strength, and allowing Him to mold us and SHAPE us and enhance our personalities for Him.
