SHAPED: Why God Shaped You The Way He Did

4th October, 2015 ()

Bible Text: Psalm 139 |

Dave Middlebrook starts our SHAPE series as we explore what our God given purpose may be in life. Over the next few weeks we'll look at Unwrapping our Spiritual Gifts, Following our Heart, Using our Abilities, The purpose of our Personality, Employing our differences, to explore the purpose God has for each of us. Scripture is clear we're born by God's purpose and for God's purpose. We see David, the shepherd boy, reflecting on this fact as he writes the beautiful Psalm 139. We're not just a random selection of cells, put together by chance, we're 'fearfully and wonderfully' made by God.

Furthermore, as the message version of Ephesians 1:3-14 tells us, "It's in Christ we find out who we are and what we are living for". Are we hearing that purpose for our lives? Are we dancing to God's music? 'You are who you are for a reason, you're part of an intricate plan' as Russell Kelfer's poem reminds us.
