Jesus: Light of the World

Rev. Dave Middlebrook

Bible Text: John 8:12 |

The Christingle acts as a reminder for us. We all know what the various parts mean, but do we fully understand and remember?
Orange - reminds us that God made the world. We should praise Him because He made everything we see. There is nothing in this world that he didn't make. Revelation 4:11
Candle - reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world. No-one need live in darkness, confusion, sadness, or hopelessness, because Jesus can show the way out. John 8:12
Ribbon - reminds us of Jesus' blood shed on the cross. Jesus took all the blame for everything any of us have and will ever do wrong. He willingly took the blame although he never did anything wrong. 1 Peter 3:18
Fruit - reminds us that God is good to us throughout the four seasons of the year. Jesus wants the best for us, not just in having lots of things, but also the best life, a full life, a rewarding life. John 10:10
Maybe we take the symbols of the Christingle for granted, but when we remember what it actually means we are amazed and Jesus really is the Light of the World.
