In his usual humorous, challenging, moving, biblical, and engaging, style J.John got us thinking about the importance of all of us sharing our faith. While we may not all called to be evangelists we are all witnesses, and asked, in the words of Peter, to: "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” 1 Peter 3:15. ‘Conversations about Christ’ should be part of our everyday dealings with people at work, the home, social activities, and more, and should not be restricted to special ‘religious’ moments. J.John gives a model for evangelism: Prayer – Care – Share. Prayer – pray each day for 10, 15, 20, or however many people you decide, that do not yet know Christ, or have slipped away from him. These could be family members, friends, work colleagues, and other people that we know. Care – look for ways to care for these 10 or so, and others that we come across each day; words of kindness and reassurance, a card or small gift, a lift or a meal, or whatever way we feel prompted. If you feel prompted to help it is probably God and do not miss the opportunity, because you never know where it may lead. Share – be ready, when the natural opportunity arises, to give a personal account of how Christ and your faith has helped you. Also when friendships have been built and conversations have been held, take the opportunity to give invites to special services or events, to put a small booklet about the Christian faith in a card, or some other way of moving the sharing forward.
