Bible Text: Revelation 21:1-8; John 4:4-14 |

Outline: In this sermon we reach the grand finale, the sixth and final act of our Drama of Scripture under the theme of “The Consummation of God’s Kingdom”.

In the first act we considered the initial act of creation which began in Genesis 1 and 2 in a Garden. For the final act we look to Revelation 21 and 22, to a New Creation which ends in a city, the New Jerusalem. We consider the following headings;

· The events which immediately precede the final drama, including the bodily, physical return of Jesus to earth at his Second Advent; the resurrection of the bodies of all people who have ever lived; the final judgement (which holds no fear for those who have trusted in Jesus in this life because his death on the cross has already taken the sting out of judgement).

· There’s a new world coming! Here we look at what the Bible has to say about the New Heaven and New Earth as our final destination, where Christians will experience a world free of the effects of the Fall (no more tears, death, suffering….)

· A word for the thirsty, that is those who are thirsty in this life for more of God and who will one day have that thirst totally satisfied in an experience of the glorious, immediate presence of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
