Are you new to the area or just visiting and coming to St Luke’s for the first time, here’s what you can expect and what you should know…
St Luke’s is a very welcoming church. You will be greeted at the door by a Welcoming Steward who will show you into the church and make sure that you have everything you need for worship and that you are comfortable. Inside the church sanctuary you will be given a notice sheet by the steward and, if required, guided to a seat.
St Luke’s uses projection equipment for displaying the words to worship songs and hymns as well as the bible readings. Please let the stewards know if you would prefer a bible to read from.
The church is also equipped with a hearing aid loop and all our leaders, preachers and singers use microphones.
Children are more then welcome at St Luke’s and the first part of worship is for all ages. Except for All Age Worship children are encouraged to leave during the main 10am service to attend children and youth sessions with our youth leadership team.
A crêche is also available throughout the service and has a video and audio link to the church sanctuary so that parents/carers don’t miss a thing!
After the main 10am worship service refreshments are served in the gathering area. Tea, coffee and squash is served with biscuits. There you will have a chance to meet and chat with other members of the congregation, browse the book stall or purchase fairly traded goods such as coffee, chocolate, biscuits, peanut butter, etc. from the Traidcraft stall.
As well as the 10am service there is an 8am Holy Communion service and a 6.30pm evening service. Please see the page on worship times for more details.
St Luke’s is fully accessible to wheelchair users and includes a lift for access to the upstairs meeting rooms.
There are car parking facilities at St Luke’s and parking is available in the streets around the church on Sundays but there are parking restrictions enforced during the week in the day time. Please take note of any restrictions when using street parking.
