Rainbows

Cubs

Cub Scouts are the most exciting members of the scouting family. They are aged 8-10 years, and through their balanced programme aim to achieve their physical, intellectual and spiritual potential. This is most vividly seen during camping experiences, where their sense of awe and wonder is a delight to behold. I can without hesitation state that the 74th St Luke’s Cub Pack is the absolute best section in Watford!

Brownies

Brownies is for girls aged between 7 and 10.

In the words of the official Girl Guiding website: Girls can participate in a wide range of activities at their regular meetings, and at special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays. They can find themselves trying out arts and crafts or recipes, playing energetic games, taking part in community action projects, or zooming down zip wires at one of our activity centres.

Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges covering many different hobbies and activities.

Being a Brownie is all about learning, developing self-confidence, building friendships and, of course, having lots of fun!

For further information, to offer help as an adult leader or to add your daughter’s name to a waiting list please see the Girlguiding website.

Scouts

The Scout Association promotes the physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being of the individual, helping them to achieve their full potential. In Scouting, we believe that young people develop most when they are ‘learning by doing’, which means we give them responsibility work in teams, make them take acceptable risks and think for themselves. This helps the scouts become better all-rounded people and good ‘team players’.

Our exciting program gives them a chance to learn new things and widen their knowledge on many things like survival skills, global issues, the local community and how to build new friendships.

To join a dynamic troop please contact St. Luke’s office via the contact form or on 01923 246161. Or you can visit https://www.scouts.org.uk/ for more information about the organisation.
