Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops’ of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

Local Events include:

A Celebration Evening to Launch ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ will be hosted by Watford Deanery Synod at 7.45pm for 8pm on Wednesday 24th May at St Mary’s Church. All welcome.

Come and Pray. 25th May – 4th June at St Luke’s with Prayer space, Corporate and individual prayer times. Sign-up sheets are available at the back of church.

Deeper – A Prayer Workshop. Sat 3rd June – see separate post.

The Thy Kingdom Come Celebration will conclude these dedicated ten days of prayer. It will be on Pentecost Sunday – 4th June, 6.30pm at St Albans Abbey, to which everybody is invited.

The Prayer for Thy Kingdom Come

Almighty God,
your ascended Son has sent us into the world
to preach the good news of your kingdom:
inspire us with your Spirit
and fill our hearts with the fire of your love,
that all who hear your Word
may be drawn to you,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Dear Friends
Happy Easter to you and all your family.
The Easter story is full of drama – hope, fear, scheming, conspiracy, heroism, betrayal, bravery and more. But it is so familiar that we can forget that the events of the first Easter changed the course of history forever.
Christians believe that those dramatic events on the cross and the empty tomb changed the relationship between us and God forever. That first Easter opened the door to heaven, hinged on the cross of Christ. The door is open to all who want to know more.
May I invite you and your family, whether you have a Christian faith or not, to come along to one of our events at St Luke’s to consider again the good news of Easter.  We look forward to welcoming you.
God bless
Dave (Vicar – St Luke’s Church)
