Life is worth exploring!
“Many claim Alpha has changed their lives and appear genuinely happier for the experience.” – Time Magazine
Over 18 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha Course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches all across the world, including here at St Luke’s! So don’t grapple with these big questions on your own.
Our next Alpha Course is being run at St Luke’s Church on a Wednesday evening in the Autumn term 2013. Don’t worry – the Alpha Course is a no pressure course, which means we won’t chase you up if you decide not to come back. So why not join us for the evening and decide for yourself!
What is an Alpha Course and what’s involved?
Alpha is a nine week course which covers the basic beliefs of the Christian faith. We hope to help people understand better the teachings of Jesus by enabling participants to explore further the subjects being taught and to express their hopes or concerns as the course unfolds. Each week, the evening begins at 7.30pm with a meal – a great chance to get to know others in the group! Following the meal, there is a talk looking at a different aspect of the Christian faith followed by discussion in small groups of 5-10 people. The whole evening will be finished by 9.45pm. This is your chance to ask your questions and help each other to discover some answers. There is no question too simple or too challenging at the Alpha Course!
